This idea is verry vague as of now.
The core idea is that by using simple existing web technologies, you can create a social media like environment.
For example, weblogs + rss + hyperlinks, with the right authoring environment, could create a very dynamic social media infrastructure.
Scalability and cost would be a problem.
For example, if I have a lot of RSS followers who really want to see when I post something, they might be hitting my RSS endpoint every minute. That's a lot of requests.
Also, I would have to foot the bill for my own infrastructure.
Perhaps open source tooling and better engineering for RSS like systems could make this possible.
