Atomic questions are prompts for retrieval practice that are: - Unambiguous (Answer is unambiguous given question.) - Quickly answerable (1 to 5 seconds as a general heuristic) - Have minimum desirable scope (as tightly scoped as possible, but no tighter) When writing educational materials, these should be distinguished from exercises, which may take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, and from course projects, which may take from a few hours to a few days. #tft #srs
